AFRI-BALL 2026
Theme: Driving culture through creativity and community.
Afri-Ball is an annual cultural festival created to celebrate Africa Day, while also celebrating African culture, food, fashion, music and people in the UK.
The festival features several build-up events and activities leading up to the annual gala which serves as the climax of the week-long ceremony.

1. AFRICA DAY RECEPTION
The Africa Day Reception serves as the official celebration of Africa Day 2026 in England’s Northeast and the opening of the series of events to follow.
The Africa Day Reception is a festive diplomatic and cultural day-event celebrating African unity, heritage, progress and the diaspora.
It features speeches from leaders, cultural showcases, discussions on development, etc.
This is an invite-only event for key government players and stakeholders in the African-diaspora.

3. POP-UP AFRICA ( STREET FASHION SHOW)
‘Pop-up Africa’ is a street fashion show that showcases the brilliant works of talented Northeast-based African fashion designers in a pop-up runway showcase on a major street in Newcastle upon tyne.
The show will feature five designers who have been tasked to present a resort collection of six pieces each, with hopes of off-the-runway sales after each showcase.
The show’s duration is 45 minutes and will feature a street DJ / hypeman, runway models, a changing tent and some street props.

4.The AFRI-BALL
Afri-ball is a charity and cultural gala celebrating African culture, fashion, music, food and people in the UK.
Afri-ball also recognizes exceptional Africans in United Kingdom, who are blazing the trails in Leadership, Business, Politics, Education and the Cooperate sector through her annual ‘AFRI Ball Honoree list’
Afri-ball heightens with the CREATOR’S AWARD segment; a viewer’s choice awards ceremony where winners of the different voting categories will be awarded, with the biggest award of the night being the ‘Creator of the year’ award.
Afri-ball is projected to be the UK’s biggest night of African culture, creativity and community.
